Childhood

1987 – 2000

I began life in a small corner of Türkiye's Black Sea region, in a family that taught me the scent of the sea and the value of hard work. I was a curious, energetic child with big dreams.

The Day That Changed My Life

2000

An incident during my high-school preparatory year changed the course of my life completely. I lost my hearing, but I never surrendered my fighting spirit.

Discovering the Bicycle

2004

One day, I noticed the old bicycle I had forgotten amid my troubles. A voice echoed inside me: “I will succeed. I can do this.” That day marked the beginning of the most beautiful journey of my life.

A Struggle That Left Its Mark

2010 – 2017

My struggle was never only about reaching the finish line. It was also about opening a path for deaf athletes who would follow. I raced on the same courses as hearing athletes and achieved strong results. Through the Turkish Deaf Cycling Community, which I founded in 2010, I worked for years to help this discipline grow.

Racing in the Turkish national jersey

The National Jersey

2013 – 2025

I had the honour of representing Türkiye at the Sofia 2013, Samsun 2017 and Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics. Wearing the national jersey became one of my greatest sources of motivation.
