For me, the Deaflympics is far more than an event. It means representing my country in the national jersey, sharing a common language with athletes from around the world and raising the profile of deaf cycling in Türkiye.

A First Deaflympics, a Historic First
In Sofia, I became the first deaf cyclist from Türkiye to start a Deaflympics race, competing in mountain biking. This journey went beyond a personal goal: it opened a new door for deaf cycling in Türkiye.

At the 23rd Summer Deaflympics in Türkiye, I competed in three events as national team captain. Both in sporting and social terms, Samsun became one of the proudest chapters of my career.

The fact that officials and athletes approached me directly was not simply about that day. It was the natural result of relationships formed since 2013, years of effort and trust built within the Deaflympics community.

From Athlete to Administrator
With the establishment of the Turkish National Deaflympics Committee, I was elected to its board. This role is a distinct and important milestone in my career, allowing me to pass on the experience gained across three Deaflympics to the future of deaf sport.

Every start line marked a new race, but my purpose remained the same: to represent Türkiye to the best of my ability and leave a path for the athletes who come after me.
